The Practice

Nkili Architecture is a RIBA chartered practice. We are an international design practice specialising in Architecture, Urban Design and Interiors. Our design led practice strongly aims to create beautifully crafted spaces. Past projects have ranged in scale from a luxury villa in Senegal, eco-chalets in the Caribbean, a Tottenham stadium private box to a retail store in Lagos and a masterplan in The Gambia.

Tolani Nkili Onajide - Director


Tolani Nkili Onajide is an architect. She was educated at Headington Girls’ School, Oxford then at the Architectural Association School of Architecture, London. She then moved to Dundee School of Architecture, Scotland to complete her masters programme. With her particular passion for urban design she chose her masters thesis in the urban design of Manhattan. Having spent some of the year in Manhattan, New York, studying its urban grid, her thesis title was 'Manhattan's urban grid for the development of Silicon Glen on the Edinburgh city edge'. 

She started her entrepreneurial journey at aged 21 with her eponymous fashion brand NKILI. NKILI was featured in the likes of Vogue magazine and Guardian newspaper several times. She later designed and launched the NKILI physical retail store in Lagos.

After completing her masters, she worked on the design team at Pattern Architects on the FIFA World Cup stadium Qatar 2022. She has also previously worked contractor side with Bouygues Construction. At her time there, she was on the design management team delivering Queen's Park Place, Kilburn alongside Simpson Haugh Architects. Queen's Park Place is a £65 million 144 unit, high end residential development.Since starting her practice projects have ranged from luxury villas in Dakar, Senegal, a design for the hospitality suites at Tottenham football stadium and a residential refurbishment in London.

She completed her architecture postgraduate diploma professional practice at Westminster University. She is registered on the Architect’s Registration Board and is a RIBA Chartered Member.
